ABOUT US

THE EUROPEAN PROJECT INADEF

Thunderstorms represent a danger, which is associated with the risk of serious damage to property and persons. Particularly in some alpine and dolomitic environments characterised by high slope and small basins, the manifestation of such meteorological phenomena can trigger debris flows. The European project INADEF is an EU initiative financed by the ERDF (Interreg V-A Italy-Austria 2014-2020) and national public contributions. INADEF is a cross-border institutional collaboration between 3 Italian Partners – ARPAV, University of Padua and University of Udine – and 2 Austrian Partners – BFW and ZAMG. The aim of the project is to develop an innovative warning system to mitigate the hydrogeological risk induced by debris flows by reducing the warning time.
